European Federation of Catalysis Societies

European association of catalysis societies is a non-profit organization which consists 25 National European societies. This non-profit Societies was founded in 1993 to provide scientists and engineers in Europe with an opportunity to coordinate and rationalize their scientific activities in the field of catalysis and to simplify the means for communicating the results of their research. They mutually strengthen all activities on national and transnational levels in all areas of catalysis. Objectives includes the promotion of scientific and technical progress in the fundamental understanding and in the application of catalysis in all its manifestations, they represent the views of the membership and the scientific community at large concerning research priorities to funding agencies, the European Community and national governments. They act as a center of information on catalysis, and to coordinate and publicize the activities of national catalysis societies and of inter-governmental organizations, through distribution via a Website and foster public awareness of the importance of catalysis and to initiate educational activities and organize a biennial European Congress named EUROPACAT. They act as a vehicle for exchange of information and views on catalysis and science policy and arrange meetings and to approve other activities that advance the above objectives. The catalysis societies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, the Russian Federation, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom are members of EFCATS. Board of the members includes President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and two members at large at the Council meeting held during the EUROPACAT meeting. They are responsible for conducting the affairs of EFCATS between meetings of the Council and will report their actions at the next meeting of the Council.
