European federation of immunological societies is non-profit making organization of 33 immunology societies from all across Europe. EFIS acts as an umbrella organization covering more than 14,000 individual immunologists. They established with the aim of supporting immunological research and education as well as strengthening scientific interaction amongst their members. They awarded young scientists through fellowships or travel grants. They published the academic journal European Journal of Immunology which deals basic immunology research, molecular immunology with a primary focus on cellular immune response antigen processing, , leukocyte signaling, immunity to infection, immunomodulation, clinical immunology, innate immunity, and related new technology. They also bringing the immune system to life using animation, the video features Babraham Institute researchers explaining how discoveries resulting from the Institute’s immunological research program have helped advance our understanding of how the immune system works with important applications for healthcare and in an ageing population. The board composed of the President, the President-elect, the Past President, the Secretary General and the Treasurer. The Board meets three/four times a year. Board Members are elected by the EFIS General Assembly, composed of delegates of national societies (each society is entitled to one delegate per 500 members), and are appointed for a period of three years. This society also encourages the female immunologists by nominating of women as speakers, chairs, and committee members in immunology-related meetings and as experts in decision-making bodies.
