European Society for Rural Sociology

The European Society for Rural sociology is that the leading European association for researchers, policy manufacturers and scientists interested in the study of rural problems within the leading scientists concerned within the study of agriculture and fisheries, food production and consumption, rural development and alter, characteristic and cultural heritage, equality and in equal ity in rural society, and nature and environmental care. The membership within the ESRS is hospitable individuals in- and out of doors Europe who have an interest within the study of rural queries.

The objectives of ESRS are:

To stimulate and promote the development of rural social science

To foster nearer relations between rural sociologists, alternative social scientists, and practitioners with an interest in agricultural development, rural society and also the atmosphere

To promote international co-operation and also the exchange of knowledge and skill within the field of rural social science research

To provide a forum in Europe for the discussion of problems associated with rural modification

To encourage the coaching of young social scientists among a world framework.

The General Assembly decides the overall policy of the Society, according to the recommendations created by the chief Committee. The adoption of the report by the executive Committee on the activities of the Society, the adoption of the Statement of Accounts ready by the (Secretary-) financial officer and previously audited. Auditors consisting of 2 normal members shall be appointed by the overall Assembly; a decision on the annual membership subscription for every style of membership as projected by the chief Committee; the election of the President and Vice-President of the Society and members of the executive Committee. Traditionally the general Assembly has been command each second year throughout the bi-annual ESRS Congress. All the members of the Society have access to the overall Assembly and have the correct to select the elections.
