Federation of European Nutrition Societies

The Federation of European Nutrition Societies [FENS] is a non-profit Federation consisting of 26 European Nutrition societies, each representing one country with the principle aim to combine efforts for the progress of the research and education in nutrition Sciences and to promote the significance of Nutrition for public health in Europe. The Federation of European Nutrition Societies [FENS] is a member of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences [IUNS]. The significant event of Federation of European Nutrition societies is the European Nutrition Conference, arranged every 4 years. According to the Federation of European Nutrition Societies statutes, the Federation was established in view of public benefit to further research and education in the science of nutrition. It will promote learning among nutritionists in general and European nutritionists in particular, by means of discussions, meetings, and the exchange of information and by other concerned means. The other aims of federation are coordinating the European countries nutrition societies at a European level, promoting and promulgate research work and knowledge on nutrition sciences, organizing a European nutrition conference every 4 years, together with other scientific meetings to help nutrition training and learning as well. The Federation of European Nutrition Societies provides news regarding the activities of members as well as general nutrition related activities of nutrition societies and communities. The federation also provides links to European-wide projects or initiatives and important national nutrition related research programs.it also provides information about the various events related to nutrition. The Federation of European Nutrition Societies is working on the notion of food based dietary guidelines that could be the basis for the member societies to promote a healthy diet in their countries. The federation publishes journals of its member societies. The official journal of the Federation of European Nutrition Societies is the Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism is the official journal of the Federation of European Nutrition Societies.
