german society for experimental and clinical pharmacology and toxicology

Deutsche Gesellscaft für experimentelle und klinische Pharmakologie und Toxikologie is a nonprofit scientific society. It is also known as German Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology or in short DGPT. It was founded in 1920. The headquarters of this society is in Mainz. DGPT consists of three companies whose about 2500 members are spread across. These are German society of pharmacology, German society of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics and German society of toxicology. To promote the scientific and practical interests of pharmacology and toxicology is the statutory purpose of the company. The scientific rates DGPT are Paul Martini prize, Novartis prize, Rudolf- Buchheim-price, Felix Wankel Animal Protection Research Award and so on. Present president of DGPT is Prof. Dr. Lutz Hein and the past president of DGPT was Prof. Dr. Matthias Schwab. The German Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology or Gesellschaft für Toxikologie in der DGPT’s society of toxicology is associated with the German society. DGPT’s GT is engaged in development of toxicological science and education in the county Germany. With qualified courses in more than toxicological subsciplines GT has been running a post graduate training program. Toxicological topics in training programs with the main focus of outside toxicology are the main topics which are taught by GT and its members.  One of the topics is environmental medicine. DGPT consists of few societies.
