Indonesian Mathematical Society

Mathematical Association of Indonesia was founded on July 15, 1976 in Bandung. This society members includes mathematicians, educators, users and fans of mathematics, with the name (INDONESIAN Mathematical Society ) also called IndoMS. Provide input to the relevant agencies of the curriculum in mathematics and mathematics education in accordance with KKNI.In May 2014 IndoMS had a total member of 1,235 people which is valid until January 2015 and a total member 1,600, consisting of faculty, researchers of mathematics, statistics and mathematics education from 30 state and private universities, as well as teachers of the school and madrasah ranging from elementary or MI, SMP / MTs and SMA / MA. Their main focus is to build networking and partnerships for the development of research in mathematics and mathematics education, publishes international and national reputations to facilitate scientific publications of all members as well as the mathematical community. Things encourage the implementation of the first National Conference of Mathematics (1976) at the Institute of Technology at Bandung (ITB) .In a place called Surabaya near Bandung there was an organization comprising of math enthusiasts who were generally mathematicians, educators, doctors, and anyone who loves math. They ran the organization with initially held monthly meetings and activities which were called "group to learn mathematics". This group lasted for a year, finally in 1973 formed an organization named Association of devotees of Mathematics, abbreviated HPM. Its founder was Prof. Drs. Slamet Dajono , who was  a mathematics lecturer at the Teachers' Training College Surabaya at that time.Finally in 1976 they held a National Conference on Mathematics to-1 at the ITB. At that moment Prof. Dr. Lee Peng Yee brought some colleagues from abroad and held seams Conference (South East Asean Mathematical Society) which was the first in Indonesia.  Thus, a National Conference of Mathematics was implemented jointly with the Conference seams, driven by the spirit of blazing from Prof. Dr. Lee Peng Yee to cultivate among mathematicians conference in Indonesia region, and encouraged also by the activities developed by HPM which with a bit of a mathematician.At the national conference, it was agreed to set up an association known by the name Mathematical Association of Indonesia. The association provides opportunity to individuals who do not belong from the field to get involved in organizational activities.
