Industry Association of Synthetic Biology

IASB is an association of biotech enterprises that are alarmed with bioethical also biosecurity questions are upraised by synthetic biology, in addition to the scientific and economic prospects of synthetic biology. Synthetic biology is a new interdisciplinary area that embraces the application of engineering ideologies to biology. It targets at the re-design and fabrication of biological mechanisms and systems that do not already exist in the natural world. Synthetic biology combines chemical synthesis of DNA with developing knowledge of genomics to allow researchers to hastily manufacture classified DNA sequences and gather them into new genomes. Developments in the speed and cost of DNA synthesis are allowing scientists to design and synthesize revised bacterial chromosomes that can be used in the production of innovative biofuels, bio-products, renewable chemicals, bio-based specialty chemicals (pharmaceutical intermediates, fine chemicals, food ingredients), and in the health care sector. Founding of the Industry Association laid in Germany, a hot plug for Synthetic Biology. Founding members stake same perspective on biosafety and Biosecurity. The aim of this association was to set the foundation for secure and responsible development of the field. Leverage the potential of SB for beneficial applications. Goals of IASB is to increase biosecurity and biosafety of SB, develop and harmonize best practises, make a Code of Conduct, encourage the field, engage in an open discourse with the public, create a platform for international collaboration. It aims to raise barriers for malign attackers, encourage continued improvements and harmonization, promote international dialogue, safeguard Synthetic Biology from misuse and promote the arena. This association aims the Synthetic biologists to identify and catalogue standardized genomic parts, to build novel biological systems, re-design prevailing biological parts and enlarge the set of natural protein functions for new processes, to synthesise Natural product synthesis engineer microbes to produce the necessary enzymes and biological functions to perform complex multistep production of natural products and thus synthetic genomics will lay a foundation to design and construct a simple genome for a natural bacterium.
