International Carotenoid Society

The International Carotenoid Society (ICS) was set up after eleventh International Symposium on Carotenoids in Leiden, The Netherlands, in August, 1996.

At the initiation of the Society in August, 1996, a Committee was delegated to assume liability for setting up and working the exercises of the Society until the twelfth International Symposium on Carotenoids held July, 1999, in Cairns, Australia. Around then, the Society endorsed a Council with new individuals and related positions to watch over the Society operations. The Council comprises of people with long involvement in the carotenoid field, speaking to various land areas and covering all parts of the field, both scholastic and business. The primary authority Society decision was held in 2002 when new Councilors and President-choose were ingrained in office. Races will be held triennially. At the conference of the thirteenth International Symposium on Carotenoids held January, 2002, in Waikiki, Hawaii, it was endorsed that the specific and vital positions of Secretary and Treasurer of the Society be delegated by the Council from inside its own positions.
