In the year 2002 , it was founded .International Society of Amyloidosis ISA, a non-profitable organisation of scientists and doctors engaged in research, teaching, and practice in connection with amyloid and amyloidosis. The aims of our Society are to promote education, clinical studies research, including diagnosis and treatment, conferences and symposia on all aspects of amyloidosis worldwide. Different proteins can be deposited as amyloid in various places of the human body. When in a piece of tissue called biopsy these deposits are viewed under a microscope. Amyloid fibrils structures in which misfolded proteins are deposited in tissue and organs .However, if the same deposits are viewed under an electron microscope with higher magnification. When a biopsy is stained with Congo red dye, the cells will stain red. A typical feature of amyloid is that these red cells will turn into apple green hence viewed in polarized light. The process by which when amyloid cells shows any signs and symptoms of disease it is called amyloidosis.
