International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine

Chief of ISAKOS is Dr. Philippe Neyret. International Arthroscopy Association (IAA) and the International Society of the Knee (ISK) were merged in 1995 at Hong Kong meeting to form into International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). ISAKOS is a society consists of more than 4,000 active members who share their knowledge in the surgical field. It conducts conferences once in two years. Since its formation 10 conferences were conducted across almost all the continents. Doctors who have ability in medical or science fields and who are interested in knee surgery, arthroscopy is eligible to become the member of ISAKOS. These members are not eligible to hold office and are not entitled to vote. Members who are qualified in the field of orthopedists, musculoskeletal surgeons, rheumatologists and are in good medical standings are eligible to become as the associate member of ISAKOS. These members are entitled to vote and are eligible to hold office. Since its inception in 1995, ISAKOS members have been increasing constantly at more than 80% every year. Regional societies and National societies can also become the part of ISAKOS if they are abide by the rules and regulations of ISAKOS, providing a larger arena where these national societies and continental organizations can combine their strengths in an international forum. ISAKOS Congresses are useful in sharing societal and research information, which are known for its variety, diverse and high quality presentations.
