Israel Chemical Society

The ICS is that the successor to the former "Chemists Association in Eretz-Israel" (CAEI), established in Tel Aviv in 1933.The Israel Chemical Society (ICS) is a registered organization dedicated to the advancement of pure and applied chemistry, both nationwide and internationally. The chemical industry plays a significant role in Israel's economy. Its main areas of activity are: potassium hydroxide, bromine and Mg from the Dead Sea, phosphates and derivatives from the Negev Desert, petrochemicals, polymers, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals. In 2000 the chemical industry contributed concerning$3.66 billion to the country's revenues from export, or concerning 14 July of total industrial exports. These figures bear witness to the importance of the contribution of Israeli chemists to national prosperity. The ICS consists of 10 sections: analytical; computational; educational; inorganic-bioinorganic; industrial; medical; organic, bioorganic and physical organic; physical; solid state; and theoretical chemistry. A gathering of the Society is held every year at that all the sections are represented. Chemistry divisions from the six Israeli academic institutions move at organizing the conferences. Major aims of ICS is to recruit members among chemists residing in Israel, similarly as among chemists residing abroad who would possibly want to hitch the Society, To nurture and advance the science of chemistry and its applications, To represent the Israeli chemical community in scientific institutions abroad and to maintain contacts with these establishments, To issue publications regarding the advancement of chemistry, To initiate scientific conferences, To solicit contributions and funds in aid of the Society's goals. Professionals from engineering background support Chemical investigations with the event of assorted techniques whereas the scientific professionals evaluate advancements of chemical engineering significantly areas. The foremost theme of chemical society is finding advancements in chemical sciences, industry and chemistry education. ICS conducts events, annual conferences, conferences and Symposiums to promote the information relating to the analysis activities and advancements in chemical engineering
