Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

The Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was founded June 28th 1951 with the former name of Italian Society of Biological Chemistry. From 1993 it has been recognized as a non-profit Association and from 1999 its name has changed to Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SIB). major goals of SIB are to promote and support the scientific research in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, with particular attention to their molecular applications in Medicine, Nutrition, Environment, Industry, the dissemination of primary research through SIB publications, the teaching of biochemistry and molecular biology at different levels of training (high school, college, PhD and master programs) the growth and advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology by favouring international cooperation, by organising meetings, workshops and courses, by providing fellowships to and awards to young investigators. All SIB members receive information regarding fellowships, courses, meeting and workshops. Young SIB Members can obtain fellowships for travel or as visiting fellows abroad. Members can also spread information related to their scientific activities and obtain financial support for the organisation of Courses and Meetings.
