Lithuanian Chemical Society was found in the yaer 1924, Lithuania is a cohesive society of 3 million people with no serious internal conflicts. The local Baltic culture has been influenced by both the West and the East.Lithuanians are quite introverted and speak little to people they don't know. The society mainly focuses on Experimental and theoretical aspects of charge transfer at electrochemical interfaces, Electrochemical material science, Nanoplating and nanostructured materials, Bioelectrochemistry, Chemistry and technology of inorganic materials, Chemistry of organic materials, Analytical and environmental chemistry, Polymer chemistry and technology. Lithuanians plan their time in advance and are relatively cold tempered, but both are not the extremes. The importance of social classes is negligible and there are few districts or institutions exclusively for the rich or the poor; save for a few extreme cases they intermingle. However the age-related expectations for a person to fulfil some roles tend to be more stringent than in the West. The influential elite of Lithuania consist of several very different groups. The first group is that of the so-called Soviet nomenclature. To the dismay of 1990s independence activists many of these remained in powerful positions, continuing their old practice of conformism with whoever is in power and reciprocal cronyism. With the collapse of the Soviet Union many of them have switched their ideals to pro-European Union.
