The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) is an organization of approximately 30,000 licensed physicians, medical residents, and medical students in New York State. Members participate in both the state society and in their local county medical societies.
MSSNY is a non-profit organization committed to representing the medical profession as a whole and advocating health related rights, responsibilities and issues. MSSNY strives to promote and maintain high standards in medical education and in the practice of medicine in an effort to ensure that quality medical care is available to the public.
The Communications Division publishes the News of New York, a monthly digital publication that informs member physicians on issues affecting the health care delivery system in New York State. The MSSNY eNews is a weekly digital publication that reports the most current news affecting member physicians and is distributed electronically to over 29,000 medical recipients.
The Communications Division is also responsible for the MSSNY website, Job Board, social media and some CME training and has on staff editors, graphic artists and technical web professionals who stay abreast of the lastest events affecting the New York State medical community. Additionally, the Communications Division informs radio, television, and print news organizations on MSSNY's position on health care and practice management issues impacting both patients and physicians.
