North American Strawberry Growers Association

NASGA was organized in 1977 and is a non-profit corporation by progressive strawberry growers and leading little fruit researchers. Their purpose was to support Agriculture and state/provincial analysis programs, develop academic seminars and publications, promote development of apparatus, varieties and cultural strategies to enhance potency for the strawberry business - together with agriculturist applied analysis, and promote helpful legislation. These days NASGA represents over 250 members in forty states, 10 provinces of Canada and 15 countries. It continues to be a production association powerfully frozen within the original philosophy that on-going analysis can offer information to strengthen and improve strawberry production and selling. Publications embody a groundwork journal, proceedings, and newssheet. To accomplish this mission NASGA: Commits twenty fifth of dues to analysis (NASGA has granted over $350,000 in analysis dollars); shaped a foundation to get enhanced funds for analysis (NASGA has enhanced funding to over $50,000 per year); Sponsors an academic winter conference and publishes a newssheet for members; Organizes summer tours to premiere berry farms throughout North America furthermore as tours to growing areas round the world and supports problems crucial to the well-being of strawberry growers through a vigorous legislative committee.
