NCWSS has the professionals interested in weed science from many perspectives. Many members are affiliated with universities or the crop protection industry; others are crop consultants, state or federal agency or private research personnel, extension educators and others. Graduate students in weed science are a vibrant and important segment of their membership.
The NCWSS Annual meetings are held where papers and posters are presented, including student paper and poster contests. The proceedings of the annual meeting are published annually. NCWSS publish a newsletter three times a year and maintain a webpage with both current and archived Newsletters. NCWSS holds the Student Weed Contest every year. They organize symposia where the latest weed science topics are discussed by industry professional. Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Ontario, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming are the states in NCWSS. The NCWSS has three groups of committees, NCWSS interest group committees, NCWSS standing committees and NCWSS special committees.
