Norwegian Society of Medical Genetics

The Society was founded in 1967, It is a recognised international organisation, with that The ESHG is one of the formation   member that Society has comprising the majors of the Society) who report to the governing board Comprises of about 30 members. One of the benefits of relating the Society is that members collect the European Journal of Human Genetics. Norwegian Society of Medical Genetics Norwegian Society of Medical Genetics the Society has an Executive Board (comprising the officers of the Society) who update the governing Board, which consists of about 30 members. According to the statutes, each year up to two Board members are elected by the Society membership, and up to two Board members are nominated by the Board itself.  This is to try to achieve a wide spread of depiction, in line with the special interests of Society members.

The Board has set up several committees to superintend aspects of the Society organisation, and sign up the chairmen.  A full activity report is presented to affiliates at the membership meeting at the annual European Human Genetics Conference.  Nominations are sought from members for the prestigious ESHG Award, prize donated before by the Baschirotto family at the European Human Genetics Conference. There is an Annual Meetings Committee which is guilty for all the practical and legal arrangements for the European Human Genetics Conference.  The scientific programme is organized by the Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) Scientific Programme Committee. The Public and Professional Policy Committee (PPPC) figure up the programme of the Public Awareness Session at the European Human Genetics Conference in collaboration with the Scientific Programme Committee.  The PPPC's main contemporary project is organising four workshops on topics impacting on professional practice and on the relationship between human geneticists and the public - Insurance and Employment, Genetic Services in Europe, Genetic Screening, DNA Loading and DNA banking. One of the most important activities that the newly formed Euro Gentest Committee and its sub-committees, focusing on Quality, Professional guidelines, training and its dissemination in the area of genetic testing. One of the assistances of assembly the Civilisation is that associates receive the European Journal of Human Genetics. The Boarding appoints the Editor who works closely with the Editorial Board to develop editorial policy.  There is a Publications Committee which works closely through our publishers concluded organisational and financial matters.
