Parapsychological Association

The Parapsychological Association (PA) is the international professional organization, where scientists and scholars engaged in the study of psychic experiences. This study includes telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, psycho-Kinesis, precognition and psychic-healing. Those experiences are very challenging and contemporary conceptions for the human’s physical world. The basic objective of the Parapsychological Association is to get a scientific understanding of these experiences. Parapsychological Association members develop and change methodologies for studying psychic and its physical, biological or psychological base. Parapsychological Association was initiated by Rhine in Durham, North Carolina, on June 19, 1957. Its first president and vice president were R. A. McConnell and Gertrude R. Schmeidler with four council members: Margaret Anderson, Remi J. Cadoret, Karlis Osis and W. G. Roll. The secretary treasurer for PA is Rhea White. PA is affiliated to American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) since 1969. Now, there are about 300 members in PA. So far, 24 biennial Parapsychological Conferences in different parts of USA were organized by Parapsychological Association. The official journals for Parapsychological Association are Journal of Parapsychology and the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research.
