It is based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, with four branches throughout Wales Design Circle and West Wales Branch. In 2007 the Society represented around 800 architects in Wales. Royal Society of Architects in Wales regularly organises competitions to highlight good architecture In 2012 it held competition titled  Redesigning the Terrace in December 2012. The Royal Society of Architects in Wales represents over 800 architects in Wales, Royal Institute of British Architects which provides support for over 40, architects, both in the UK and overseas.
