Slovak Society for Parasitology

slovak parasitological society(sps) at the slovak academy of sciences is a voluntary civic organization of scientific, scientific-pedagogical and professional staff of the Department of Parasitology. Its purpose is to contribute to the development and enhancing the level of parasitology in the slovak republic and the conceptual and foresight activities, as well as the promotion and implementation of the results of scientific research in practice. The sps is a separate legal entity. It is associated with the SAV to being adopted by the sas. It support the development of parasitology by initiating research work, the introduction of new knowledge and diagnostic procedures; carries out expert activities. It focus attention of members addressing issues of Union, which are relevant to the needs of the whole society. It provides its members with assistance in their professional work and contributes to raising the professional level of their members. It contributes to raising the professional level of their members .To fulfill its tasks sps organizes scientific and business conferences, lectures, debates, courses, tours, etc. and comments on the scientific and publishing activities in the field, participates in publishing practice, and editorial activities the field of parasitology. It may be a collective member of international parasitological companies to actively participate in their activities and send their representatives. sps cooperate with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of health, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of environment of the Slovak Republic, the slovak academy of sciences and other scientific and professional societies.
