The 'Society of EMC Engineers (India) (SEMCEI) was founded and registered in 1987. It is headquartered in Bangalore, India; it is an Electromagnetic compatibility professional association for Engineers working on the subject of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference (EMC /EMI) in India. It is a Professional Organisation that provides a platform and assembly point for the professionals working in the fields of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference in India. The Organization Board of SEMCE (I) comprises of a Chairman, a Secretary, Vice-Chairmen, Joint Secretaries, a Treasurer and Members. It had Regional Sections at Calcutta, New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam at present. The society publishes a Technical Journal, titled Electromagnetic Compatibility Journal, biannually for distribution among members. The Journal is taken care by an Editor and an Associate Editor. The main objectives of the SEMCE (I) are to promote professional collaboration amongst the members, to improve cognizance regarding the threat of EMI and the necessity for EMC in electronic systems among practicing and scientists engineers. The society achieves all these objectives by Organising conferences, workshops, seminars and courses by various chapters of SEMCE (I), diverse effects of Electromagnetic Radiation and to promote the progression in the study of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and allied technologies. Any person involved in the events relating to EMC/EMI is eligible to become Life Member of the Society, Any Organisation / Institution /Industry or any other Society that subscribes to and also interested in persistence of the objectives of SEMCE (I) is suitable to become Institutional Life Member of the Society.
