Diabetes South Africa, volunteer Organistion established in 1969 . It creates knowledge and perception in the field of diabetes for the people who are suffering from Diabetes. Its national head office is located in Cape Town and it has 7 branches around the country. They branches are also a non- profit Organisation run with the member ship basis . The branch has a 100 small branches in the locality. And some wellness groups in South Africa.
Our work includes Informing, educating all people who have diabetes and their families. Acts for advising people with diabetes, influence for best oppurtunities, cheaper medicines and better services. It promotes in preventing through public perception of diabetes, its symptoms, Problems and risks. Diabetes SA is a part of International Diabetes Federation (IDF), which includes 146 diabetes organizations in 121 countries. Diabetes SA leaders are intimately involved in a numerous people of working committees in prestigious body. It has working relationships with –University medical departments State and provincial health departments (Society for Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes of South Africa – for doctors specializing in diabetes Diabetes Education Society of South Africa for specialist health care workers CDE (Centres for Diabetes and Endocrinology) it is associated with private medical practitioners people and other health care people. Non-government organizations working in relative fields in the primary health care sector. It includes pharmaceutical companies, Industries and other companies servicing people with diabetes. Diabetes SA is primarily a proffer organisation and relies heavily on people with diabetes and the families who small area their talents , they share their knowledge and Practical views and give of their time to help each other.You too could be a great coordinator and get everyone off on a big walk or you may, also a friendly face at the end of a hospital bed.
