Medical Instrumentation:

During the last 50 years, there has been a tremendous increase in the use of electrical and electronic equipment in the medical field for clinical and research purposes. Many types of instrumentation systems are used in hospitals and physician's' clinics for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Their range is spectacular and variety baffling. It is difficult to imagine a field of activity in the health sector where instruments are not required and used. A medical device is any item promoted for a medical purpose that does not rely on chemical action to achieve its intended effect.
