Southern Africa Transplantation Society

The Southern Africa Transplantation Society is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It serves as an international forum for the development of organ transplantation. SATS is an organization that unites the entire Transplantation Community of South Africa to maintain the social issues between a diversity of disciplines and transplant centres by creating a forum for discussion and debate among themselves. The objective of the Society is to advance the science of transplantation between the experts who are interested in transplantation and related subjects. This Transplantation Society is supported by the president Dr. Jerome Loveland and 14 honorary society members. SATS remains an organization that continues to evolve in the field of transplantation by organizing conferences/meetings at least biennially. About 6700+ professionals have an active interest in basic science, clinical research and improving clinical practice in the field of transplantation. The official Journal of The Transplantation Society is published 2 times in a month. It is the most cited and influential journal in the field of transplantation and surgery. It has more than 25,000 citations for a year. SATS have supporting journals to publish the papers such as SAJS, SAMJ, ELSEVIER and Pediatric Transplantation. For the latest research update and news about the organ transplantation, SATS plays the major role among the all the transplant societies.
