Spanish Society of Neuroscience

Spanish Society of Neuroscience (SENC) established in Madrid in the month of June, 1980 by organizing the first Neurobiologists meeting in Spain. The call for this meeting was attended by 125 neuroscientists and also they agreed to continue this for successive year. The usefulness of the meeting leads to organizing 2^nd Neurobiologists in Salamanca in the month of September 25-27. Then officially in the year 1985, the Spanish society of Neuroscience is started with the first board of directors and the president was Dr. Elio Garcia-Austt. Now the Spanish society of Neuroscience has 512 ordinary members, 369 partners and 6 emeritus partners. The main aim of SENC is to promote and develop the knowledge in the area of ​​neuroscience by bringing every scientist together. It helps to facilitate the integration of Neuroscience research. The other aims are to promote education in the field of Neuroscience and to build relationship with the national and international organizations. The main activities/events of SENC are congress, brain awareness week, Neuroarte and the cajal conferences. Each activity has separate motive and aim to explore the knowledge about neuroscience. The cajal conference aim is to attract specialists in a specific topic of neuroscience to discuss recent research with young neuroscientists in relaxed atmosphere. NeuroArte is a one of the activity in Spanish Society for Neuroscience to bring our scientific society activity.
