Spanish Society of Plant Pathology

The Spanish Society of Plant Pathology (SEF) was established on September 24, 1981. During the Sixth Annual Meeting of Microbial Phytopathology, Group of specialist’s from the Spanish Society for Microbiology initiate SEF. Since then there have been 15 National Congress of Plant Pathology. The following locations are Granada (1982), Vitoria (1983), Puerto de la Cruz (1984), Pamplona (1985), Badajoz (1989), Torremolinos (1992), Sitges (1994), Cordoba (1996), Salamanca (1998), Valencia (2000), Almeria (2002), Lloret de Mar (2004), Murcia (2006), Lugo (2008), Vitoria (2010), Malaga (2012) and Lleida (2014). They also organized two international conferences and three scientific meetings. The SEF celebrated its 30th glorious anniversary with a Scientific Conference in Valencia in the month of November 2011. The aims of this association are: facilitate and disseminate work on different aspects of plant pathology, strengthen the research and improve teaching, improve your contacts between Spanish plant pathologists and experts from related fields, grow your relationship with Spanish and foreign related companies. The current president of SEF is Jesus Murillo Martínez from 2014- 2016. To update the scientific world about the recent research activates, news and information newsletter European Pathology/ Europath News are the excellent initiative taken by this society.
