AACC was formerly known as the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, is a global scientific society dedicated to the clinical laboratory science and its application to the healthcare. Currently the President of AACC is Mr. David Koch Ph.D. and association headquarters are located in Washington, D.C. in United States. AACC has approximately 8,000 members that come from all areas of lab medicine—clinical and research labs, Diagnostic companies, Government Agencies, original equipment manufacturers etc. Collectively they develop and run the lab tests and lab instruments used throughout the healthcare division. They also manage labs, conduct research involving biomarkers and promote the accurate diagnostic testing.
American Association for Clinical Chemistry represents the diverse interests of a global the lab community: its members come from around 110 countries and hold spectrum of lab-related professional degrees, certifications, and credentials. AACC sponsors dozen of scientific conferences each year where the largest and most prestigious of which is, the Annual Meeting and Clinical Laboratory Expo. First it was held in 1949, this educational meeting and technology exposition is one of the leading events in clinical laboratory profession, attracting nearly 20,000 participants. AACC's journal, Clinical Chemistry is one of the leading international journals of clinical laboratory science providing 2,000 pages per year of peer-reviewed papers that advances the science of the field. In addition to being the most cited journal in the field of Clinical Chemistry has Impact factor of 7.77 the highest among the journals of clinical chemistry, clinical pathology, analytical chemistry and the sub specialties like transfusion medicine and clinical microbiology.
