Turkish Pharmacists Association

Turkish Pharmacists’ Association is established in 1956.It is also known as TPA. TPA represents all of the community pharmacists in Turkey also they have members from different areas of pharmacy practice in Turkey such as different pharmaceutical universities and industries. It has 51 Regional Chambers. Administrative departments in these chambers and the Executive Committee of association are elected in the General Congresses that are arranged once in two years. They protects rights of pharmacists and patients, this association is active in producing solutions for public health problems in order to promote public health issues. They care about country’s different social and health problems; they are capable of acting against the policies and implementations that can influence the public health. They always evaluate the historical conditions and procedures related with drug and pharmacy in combination of the current situation and the future of pharmacy creates and offers policies for drug and pharmacy. They establishes effective link and effective conditions with different professional associations, health and drug related organizations, academic institutions, research institutes, pharmaceutical industry and Ministry of Health representatives. They works with other health business associations for improvement of public health, suggests appropriate professional education for pharmacists in good universities. This association arranges post-graduated professional education that are regarding family planning and health problems that are frequently seen in their country such as asthma by using the help of academician pharmacist, its Academy of Pharmacy offers the conditions for further education of pharmacists’ trainees and execute these educational programme  in scientific and institutional level, they executes different epidemiologic studies that will contribute to the health of the community and drug, It establishes social and cultural facilities that are unique to pharmacists for improving social communication.
