World Association of Theoretically Oriented Chemists

The WATOC aims to promote the field of theoretical and computational chemistry to improve the interactions between scientists working in this field worldwide. WATOC was established in 1982 as the WATOC to energize the advancement and utilization of hypothetical strategies. From its absolute starting point, WATOC was never truly confined to natural science, and its exercises immediately extended to cover all of science. In acknowledgment of this, World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists name received in 2005. The extent of WATOC is reflected by the Triennial WATOC Congresses which have turned into a gathering for exhibiting research from all zones of hypothetical and computational science, including both strategy improvement and applications. Participation at these Congresses has developed from commonly 200-600 in the initial years to 850 at WATOC-2008 in Sydney and to further than 1300 at WATOC-2011 in Santiago de Compostable. The WATOC website was started on 1st Jan, 1994 as the first Web service associated with any chemically concerned society and has been retained since then by Henry Rzepa from the Department of Chemistry, Imperial College London.
