Yorkshire Agricultural Society

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society was recognized in 1837 to improve, promote and help agriculture in the region. Educating upcoming generations is a main part of the Society’s work, as is encouraging and supportive to the agricultural community. The educational programme of events includes free courses for teachers, Farmhouse Breakfast, Careers in Focus, Countryside Days, and Great Yorkshire Show Discovery Zone competitions. The Yorkshire Agricultural Society also organises the yearly Great Yorkshire Show and Countryside Live, which both takes place on the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.  YAS is a registered charity and member organisation with around 11,000 associates who assist to support the Society’s work. Since opening, the Centre has got numerous awards including the RICS Pro Yorkshire Award. Its sustainable features were renowned by the Estates Gazette and it was awarded a Green Award.
