    Alkhurma viral hemorrhagic fever virus (AHFV) is a tick-borne flavivirus identified in Saudi Arabia and recently implicated in outbreaks of febrile illness associated with hemorrhagic and neurological manifestations.It was confirmed as a flavivirus by using a broadly reactive flavivirus monoclonal antibody.4G2: this antibody reacts with dengue, yellow fever, and West Nile and Alkhurma viruses.

  • Alkhurma hemorrhagic Fever

    The disease presents initially with non-specific flu-like symptoms, includes neurologic and hemorrhagic symptoms in severe form including fever, anorexia, general malaise, diarrhea, and vomiting and in some cases it . There is no standard specific treatment for the disease. Patients receive supportive therapy that balances the patient’s fluid and electrolytes, maintaining oxygen status and blood pressure, and proper treatment.
