At Float Mobile Learning, Heather designs and produces art using design software for visual communication media for web and interactive media, mobile and motion graphics. As a designer, she creates interactive web and mobile projects along with marketing collateral. Heather has worked with Fortune 500 companies to create customized mobile applications. Float Mobile Learning guides industry-leading companies to understand and leverage the power of mobile learning. Float helps companies meet their business strategies by making useful information accessible, anytime, anywhere. Heather is also a part-time adjunct faculty member at Bradley University in the Interactive Media Department, and the Lead Designer at The Iona Group.

This session will give you examination of strategic processes and milestones that can be utilized to achieve a successful mobile-focused project. It will show you the organization and defining of a project, functional requirements and considerations, graphical best practices, design patterns and overall user experience. Deliverable examples will be shown that demonstrate prosperous milestones such as graphical user interfaces, wireframes, nodemaps and/or moodboards. Heather will provide techniques designers can utilize during the development process to ensure a successful process such as preparing graphics for multiple platforms. You will learn the practices for a great user experience and considering content first when designing user interfaces for mobile. The topics covered are essential to design professionals, from employees of large corporations to independent developers.
