Title: Change in the surface morphology of viscose fabrics by exposure to sunlight

Shady Kamal has completed his PhD at the age of 28 years from Helowan University. He was head of the art department at Tabuk Teachers College, KSA head of technical committee for-weaving at Saudi Arabian Standards Organization. He has published more than 25 papers in several journals.

Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to study the changes in the morphology of the fibre surface of viscose fabric after direct exposure to sunlight for 120 days at summer time. The figures obtained showed that after exposure to sunlight a number of large depressions was formed on the fibre surfaces. The observed damage in the mechanical properties of the fabric can be directly related to the produced changes in the surface morphology.
