The lungs are among the hardest-working organs in the body as it fuels us with oxygen, our body's life-sustaining gas and expel toxic carbon dioxide that has been created throughout the body. They are the only internal organs that are constantly exposed to the external environment. Over time the wear and tear on the human lungs constitutes a serious health risk. Since Lungs are delicate organs and vulnerable to a range of illnesses. Lung disease refers to disorders that affect the lungs and has become a major concern. Lung disease doesn’t play favourites. It affects men, women, children, smokers, non-smokers and individuals who have never smoked. Our breathing and our lungs are precious. We need to protect them. We are powered by breathing. Many people suffer from this disease for years and die prematurely from it or its complications. Improve prevention and management of lung diseases can be achieved through a concerted worldwide effort of people involved in all facets of health care and to encourage an expanded level of research interest in this highly prevalent disease.
