Iritis refers to inflammation that affects the iris of the eye, showing a colored ring surrounding a pupil of the eye. Iris being a part of the middle layer of the eye anatomically the Uvea is also called as Uveitis. Diagnosis of uveitis depends on a thorough eye examination. If uveitis is diagnosed and treated in its early stages, there is often no loss of vision. It takes six to ten weeks to treat an episode of anterior uveitis.
