    Bleeding esophageal varices are enlarged veins in the walls of the lower part of the esophagus that bleed. The esophagus is the tube that connects your throat to your stomach. Symptoms: Black and tarry stool, bloody stool, light- headache, vomiting, paleness, vomiting blood. Treatment: Treatment of acute bleeding 1. Health care provider injects varices directly with clotting medicine. Place a band around the bleeding vein 2. Vasoconstrictor which tighten the blood vessels 3. Rarely tube may insert through the mouth into stomach and inflated with air.
