Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, the Spanish Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, Accessories, Components and Tools, represents 90% of the machine tool companies and advanced manufacturing technologies in Spain. AFM, from its headquarters in San Sebastián and its implementation in China (Tianjin) works to promote internationalization and, through its technological unit INVEMA (Machine Tool Research Foundation), the technological innovation of its associated companies. AFM, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, is a member of CECIMO and ECTA, the European associations of machine tool manufacturers and cutting tools, respectively. Spain is the third largest producer and exporter of Machine Tools in the European Union and the ninth in the world. A positioning achieved thanks to the firm commitment of the manufacturers of machine tools, accessories, components and tools with the technological innovation, the internationalization and the development of the people. Exporting more than 80% of the sectors production to the international markets and allocating approximately 5% of the turnover to Research, Development and Innovation. AFM defends and represents the interests of the sector of the technologies of advanced manufacture fomenting the relations with the institutions, with professional associations and related entities and especially the inter-enterprise relations It offers a wide range of value-added services to its companies and is part of the CECIMO ( European Association of Machine Tool Industry ) and ECTA ( European Association of Cutting Tools ) associations . Organized annually the General Assembly of Members, every two years the Congress of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technologies and is co-organizer with BEC of the Spanish Machine Tool Biennial. There are two types of AFM membership: ASSOCIATED COMPANIES Those companies with legal personality and domicile in Spain that carry out at least two of the following activities: design, manufacture and sale of machine tools, their accessories, components and tools for cutting and / or deformation, and other production systems. COLLABORATING PARTNERS Companies or organizations linked by their activity to associated companies that carry out complementary activities for the sector.
