About the University: Thank you for your interest in visiting the website of the Ramón y Cajal Institute for Health Research, our IRYCIS. No intelligent internet user can escape that in our name, in the heart of our acronym, and in our logo we show the pride of feeling followers of the path opened by Don Santiago Ramón y Cajal in biomedical research. Ramón y Cajal University Hospital has a splendid trajectory of medical research, which has been developed during the last thirty years in cooperation with different national and international institutions. We believe that the time has come for our activity to be not only officially recognized among the growth poles of biomedical research, But rather to constitute an institutional framework capable of making that research a significant element in the scientific and economic development of Spain. For this we have been configured as an Institute of Health Research, our IRYCIS, centered in the Hospital, through the association with other institutions dedicated research.
The objectives of IRYCIS are:
Innovate: To turn the discoveries and inventions of our researchers into practical applications for the improvement of health care, diagnosis, treatment and health of the population. Encourage curiosity, the capacity of health professionals to ask questions and question everything already established, seeking the best for the sick and society, and give them the necessary support to find answers. Giving ourselves a research management structure that allows us to face and overcome new, potential and future challenges.
Research Investigation: The scientific structure of the Ramón y Cajal Institute of Sanitary Research -IRYCIS- is defined, in terms of the distribution of Groups, as follows: Consolidated or Emerging Groups They have Principal Investigators in projects of the National R + D + I Plan, or European projects, with a Factor of Bibliographic Impact accumulated superior to 50 points during the last 5 years and with more than 70% of its publications positioned in the quartiles 1 and 2 (Source: Institute for Scientific Information, Web of Knowledge). It is formed as an emergent group of the IRYCIS of the following form: • Researchers who have achieved their first project through a competitive public call in the last 3 years and have articulated a research group with a critical mass of researchers and collaborators sufficient to develop the project activities (the "sufficient" criterion is the responsibility of the Commission Research and ultimately the CEC), and / or • Researchers who have a postdoctoral research contract obtained through competitive public call and have articulated a research group with a critical mass of researchers and collaborators sufficient to develop the project activities (the "sufficient" criterion is the responsibility of the Research Committee And ultimately the CCE).
It is formed as a consolidated group of the IRYCIS to those that at the moment of its integration surpass in its trajectory the criteria of emergent.
Associated Groups: Clinical groups, including nursing, who carry out clinical trials (either as PIs or collaborators) or projects with sporadic funding not belonging to the National R & D & I Plan in European projects, with a cumulative Impact Factor in the last 5 years is less than 50 points and / or less than 70% of the publications are positioned in the first and second quartile. In order to value the work carried out by all these IRYCIS units and groups, we encourage you to request and include your services in your research projects, both public and private, contacting for each of those responsible for these units . The Foundation has launched a procedure for managing internal charges through which you can allocate the amount of services you request for your projects.
Portfolio of Services: I am pleased to introduce you to the IRYCIS SERVICES PORTFOLIO. This portfolio includes not only the scientific-technical services provided by the Central Research Support Units of our Institute, but also those that other groups and units make available to the research you develop, providing quality, comfort and competitive prices to Services they offer. In order to value the work carried out by all these IRYCIS units and groups, we encourage you to request and include your services in your research projects, both public and private, contacting for each of those responsible for these units . The Foundation has launched a procedure for managing internal charges through which you can allocate the amount of services you request for your projects. The fees associated with our Services Portfolio have been approved by the FIBioHRC Board of Trustees and by the Governing Board of IRYCIS, also constituting a Delegated Commission for Valuing and Charging Services of the Institute. Finally, we would like to thank all those responsible for the units and groups that constitute this Portfolio of Services for their effective collaboration and encourage all groups and units trained to produce common research services to incorporate these in a structured, valued and explicit way in our portfolio.
