Figure 2: Role of regulatory T cells in immunotherapy
Regulatory T cells (Treg) and the associated cytokines interleukin 10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-β (TFG-β) are proposed to play roles in modulating allergic responses. They directly suppress APCs while induce Treg-inducing dendritic cells (DCs), suppress Th2, inhibit IgE production, stimulate IgG blocking antibodies and IgA antibodies production, and suppress proliferation of effector cells.
