Branch-points can arise anywhere, and there are multiple feed-back regulators. Green arrows: primary focus of energy input; red arrows: where energy is spread out into secondary systems.
Lower: Point-changes (enhanced black arrows) alter signalling cascades enhancing/suppressing specific points, thereby inducing dysfunction and deregulation of the remaining sequence.
