(a) The first line is a blot with the antizonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) antibody. The second line is fetal membrane homogenates prepared for Western blotting. A total of 17 μg protein was loaded in 25 μl in each lane. Results are representative of one experiment repeated three times. (b) Tight junction protein expression was quantified by densitometry and is expressed as mean peak optical density ± standard error of the number of samples in each group.
