| Figure 2: MMP-2 release kinetics from peptide nanofibers. Active human MMP-2 was incorporated into NFs at a concentration of 100 ng/ml and release kinetics were measure by performing ELISA on supernatant samples at 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, and 72 hours.\ There was a higher immediate release initially at 0.5 hr, 1 and 2 hrs. After this initial burst, release slowed and remained relatively constant. By 72 hrs, the total cumulative release was approximately 16% of the total MMP-2 incorporated initially into the nanofiber scaffold. |
