Each study is depicted by a point estimate represented by a square, the size of which corresponds to the weight of the study in the overall estimate represented by the diamond at the bottom of each graph. The error bars on either side of each square and the width of the diamond indicate the 95% confidence interval of the risk ratio (RR) estimates. The RRs are analyzed with the fixed-effect model and the heterogeneity across pooled trials is presented as I2. Summary estimates falling on the left side of the graphs favor maintenance ICS, those falling on the right side favor intermittent ICS.
