Dr Catherine Sherwin completed her PhD in Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Pediatrics and Women’s Health at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Her Postdoctoral training includes a Fellowship in Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Otago and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship undertaken in the Divisions of Pediatric Rheumatology and Pharmacology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah. As a Clinical Pharmacologist she is part of the research team within the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and also has a role in the Clinical Trials Office within the Department of Pediatrics. Dr Sherwin’s research and expertise is in pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and pharmacogenomic modeling as well as clinical trial simulation. Her research involves understanding the pharmacology of drugs in neonatal and pediatric populations which has allowed her to become an expert in the techniques of pharmacometric modeling and scaling which are crucial for pediatric clinical trials.
