Abstract:

The deltopectoral fl ap is benefi cial for reconstruction of signifi cant facial defects, off ering up to 250 cm2 of transferable cutaneous tissue to allow reconstruction of the entire facial defects. Th e deltopectoral fl ap tolerates folding very well and allows movement in wide directions. Th is clinical study was carried out at maxillofacial surgery department at Ramadi Teaching Hospital, Anbar province, Iraq. Acceptable functional as well as aesthetic achievements were obtained and confi rmed that deltoopectoral fl ap is good alternative surgical procedure can be applied for the reconstruction of head and neck.

Tahrir N Aldelaimi is an Associate Professor at University of Anbar, Iraq. He is a Maxillofacial Surgeon & Laser Surgeon and competed BDS, CDI, MSc, FIBMS, FIHTS, FIAOMS, DLMFS.
