A patient-centered comprehensive model for age care services is emerging in Egypt. It encompasses medically-supervised and managed community-based palliative care and offers integrated Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, home consultations and mHealth, in-home caregiving and assistance, rehabilitation, and motivation. The prevalent models of care in Egypt are discussed with emphasis on the emerging comprehensive model, their benefits, and major related issues including utilization and transitions of care.
