Abstract:

Aim & Objectives: To assess the pre-treatment severity and treatment outcomes of patients undergoing Combined Orthodontic and Orthognathic Surgery (COOS) using PAR, IOTN, IOFTN and cephalometric tracing. A retrospective analysis conducted in oral surgery and orthodontics department at James Cook University Hospital between 2011 and 2017. Materials & Methodology: Data including baseline characteristics, type of surgery, IOTN, IOFTN, pre/post PAR and % of change in PAR score were collected for 190 who underwent COOS. Pre and post-op cephalometric analysis was carried out using PACS software. Results: 97% of patient had pre-op IOTN (DHC) score of ?4, pre-op IOFTN score of ?4 and > 70% post-op change in PAR. Preop IOTN (AC) score of ?6 occurred in 99% of patients. Mean ceph severity score and mean ceph outcome score were 3.3 and 6.1, respectively. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that patient???s selection for orthodontic and orthognathic surgery at JCUH are in lines with BOS and NHS guidelines with good outcomes for COOS.

Biography :

Sanaa Alraisi currently a Senior House officer in Maxillofacial Surgery unit in United Kingdom. A dental graduate from University of Dundee in 2005. Completed General Dental Training in UK in 2007, Then moved to UAE and worked for DHA, and MOH for around 10 years as general dentist with special interest in Oral Surgery. In 2016 – 2018 worked as clinical Tutor in University of Sharjah Dental Hospital. Currently working as Senior House officer in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery in UK with the aim to get into Oral Surgery speciality in the future. A member of faculty of Dental surgeon and associate of faculty of dental trainer Edinburgh. Recently have been involved in audits and research within the department with aim of publications and presentation in the future.
