Biography

Dr. Frost’s Ph.D. is in Medical, Cultural, and Applied Anthropology with her dissertation field research completed in rural Morocco. She served as the Middle East Center’s Associate Director (2009-2011) and Director of Graduate Studies (2010-2011) for the Middle East Studies Program. Dr. Frost is the Director of Global Social Work and the Chair of the Health and Global Concnetrations for the Masters of Social Work Program for the University of Utah’s College of Social Work. She teaches courses on research, the use of memoir by Muslim women, issues in women’s health, issues in reproductive health, global issues in health, and human rights issues in the Middle East & North Africa. Dr. Frost is engaged in developing topic-specific workshops with women's group for women with refugee status. In addition, she is involved in interdisciplinary research across the University of Utah campus, as well as with colleagues from other universities in the U.S. and globally.
