Dr. Naisana S. Asli has received a PhD in Molecular Biology from the International Max Planck Research School, Goettingen, Germany, in 2008. She then joined the Adult Stem Cell Group at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute as a postdoctoral fellow from 2009-2015. She currently holds a faculty position at University of Sydney. Her research involves basic characterization of stem cell machinery using adult and cancer stem cells as model systems. Her research mainly focuses on the intersection of cell cycle quiescence, EMT and extrinsic signalling queues to exert stem cell-specific phenotypes.
