The future of brain healthcare

uture trends in technology such as robotics, artificial intelligence and the internet of things, have the potential to impact
healthcare in ways that may sound like science fiction. Implantable contact lenses, bionic knees and brain boosters. Data
mining the Internet of Things will allow us to quantify healthy and shift healthcare from diagnosis and treatment to wellness
and prevention. 63% of deaths worldwide are from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases,
chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. The impact of many of these diseases could be ameliorated through the human-
centered design of innovative and compassionate technology ecosystems to facilitate a healthy lifestyle.
